I’m going away for a few days, but I’m glad Bonnie and Vic received
Syl’s message in my name (damn internet that stopped working on
Christmas day, grrrrrrrr)! If I don’t see you guys before New Year (você também Samuel!), feliz 2006!!!!!

I was intending to make a post talking about my Christmas gifts and
Kiss Symphonic (a DVD where Kiss plays with an orchestra) but that’ll
have to be done later My
brother just decided we’re leaving, so…I need to pack and be ready in
less than 30 min. or so LOL *Mission Impossible song starts playing*

Does that mean that whenever you wish people a merry Christmas, you’re
actually wishing them a merry island? And what does a merry island mean?
That you wish that person to be far far farrrrr away from you in an
island, or that you wish people in islands to be merry despite of all
tsunamis they’ll face one day or another, or does it mean that you wish
the person owned a merry island for you to go there and have fun? hehehhehe

What I’ve been up to again

• watching Robert Altman’s movies (Cookie’s Fortune was the last one I saw);
• talking for 4 hours with my teacher about serious stuff, and yet laughing hard!;
• going to see my friend Fabi’s preview of thesis;
• receiving Christmas emails I don’t have the time to reply;
• emailing Keiko;
• talking to my chéri’s mama (it was her birthday today);
• watching Tais-toi;
• feeding my dog;
• facing a 34ºC heat;
• facing a 34ºC heat, substantially enhanced by a huge industrial
  fire at my aunt’s bakery while frying our beloved Christmas traditional
  filhozes (see pic below).

Movie

Heheheheh today I watched a very cool movie (in french, but with
subtitles, which is very important!!) with Gérard Depardieu and Jean
Reno. It had been a long time since I had laughed with something so
stupid and so clever at the same time Those actors are the best Watch it if you can, it’s a 2003 movie so it should be easy to find!

Tryo

Today I was watching the news on TV5 and after it was over, I saw a
program called Acoustic, and was pleasantly surprised to listen to a
couple of songs from this francophone quartet called…Tryo They have really cool music, check it out!

Crazy

You’re probably not aware of it, but I admire Seal a lot! And I think his song Crazy
is one of the coolest songs ever! The problem is…one of these days I
was skipping channels and suddenly I saw (on MTV, of course) Alanis
Morissette…singing…Crazy. Again, I admire Alanis too, I don’t like
all of her songs but I like many of them, so…it pissed me off to see
how she managed to ruin such a great song Bottom line is: when you listen to this version of the song somewhere somehow, just run for your lives!!!

Popeye

Today I watched Robert Altman’s film adaptation of Popeye…before
watching it, I heard lots of people say (in reviews and live) that it
sucked extremely much, that it was completely crazy, that the idea of
making it sort of a musical sucked, etc etc…so before I started I had
a very bad opinion of it already…but mannnn it turned out to be great
(for a Popeye fan like me) –
it’s JUST like the cartoon, amazing!!!!! I mean, EVERYTHING is exactly
the same, there are no better actors that would make such great Bluto,
Olive Oyl and Popeye!!!!!!!!! And the cartoonish spirit was left intact
too, I mean, when Popeye is going to give Bluto an extra strong punch,
when his arms turn over and over you know? It’s the same thing in the
film hheheheheh perfecttt And the scenary in Malta, wow…impressive.

Have you seen this?

…and could you find all the bands to which the drawing makes
reference to? Me, I’ve only found a few…Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Guns
‘n’ Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, Queen (duh), Rolling Stones, Led Zepellin,
Blur, Pet Shop Boys, The Presidents of the United States,
Madonna, Alice in Chains, Garbage, U2, Gorillaz, Eagles, Beach Boys…but…they say there’s 74 names in there, ughgh!
